POKER RUN FUNDRAISER

Curtis

On June 7, 2008 the roar of hundreds of motor cycles filled the air in Pennsville, NJ. Unlike the visual that most of us may get when they hear and see hundreds of bikers ride through town, this group gathered to memorialize the life of their friend, fellow biker and organ donor Curtiss Ling. Curtiss who had passed away on January 2, 2008 was clearly well liked and part of the fiber of this community.

The group gathered at the starting point between 9-11am at Nu Image Cycle on North Broadway in Pennsville where each cyclist paid a $25 registration fee, with proceeds going to Sharing Network Foundation. Other activities going on to raise money and awareness for organ and tissue donation were t-shirt sales and the distribution of green bracelets and education resources by NJ Sharing Network volunteers, Tom and Vivian Gano.

Maria Ling, widow of Curtiss Ling and an employee of the MVC, where NJ Sharing Network has a major initiative in place, clearly put in countless hours to make this event a reality. We applaud her support and effort as we graciously recognize the immeasurable gift of life from her husband Curtiss Ling.
