Donate Life Month 2009
The month of April is officially recognized as National Donate Life Month. Each year, this entire month is used to honor the lives of those saved and enhanced through donation and to call attention to the needs of those who still await a second chance at life. Over 100,000 men, women and children await organ transplantation nationwide while over 4,400 patients wait to receive the gift of life here in New Jersey. For many, tragically, the gift will never be received. Nearly 6,000 people die a year – about 15 per day – awaiting a life-giving transplant.
Take this special time to consider the difference you can make in the lives of others through organ and tissue donation. Make a personal commitment to be a donor. Say yes to donation when you get or renew your driver's license or state identification card at the Motor Vehicle Commission or online at www.donatelifenj.org.
Share your decision with your loved ones and assist in donation education efforts. Learn more.
We encourage you to print out the flyers below and use them in your institutions to help spread awareness. You can also check our pages on Face Book (members only) and My Space and register to receive an e-notification of an online donor registry at www.donatelifenj.org.
