Letter from Attendee

Hello Mary Ellen, Sharyn, Dan, Staff Members, and Volunteers,

Yesterday was phenomenal! While it was a day for remembering our son Christian and many other donors, it also was a day for celebrating life!  What a wonderful, memorable day it was from start to finish!  Please know that meeting you, Mary Ellen after our e-mails and phone conversations, was indeed a pleasure.  To see both Sharyn and Dan again, meant a great deal to us.  Both of them were with us during our darkest hours and provided us with kindness, compassion and understanding. For this, we will be eternally grateful!  Naturally, meeting Christian's heart recipient, Lloyd, his lovely wife Maria, and beautiful daughter, Courtney, and her fiancée, made the day super special!  Our private time together before the beginning of the program was emotional and yet much easier than expected.  Now we have new members of our family.  Bob emailed Lloyd last evening with several pictures from the memorial and Lloyd emailed back today.  We plan on keeping in touch with one another and realized that we have a lot in common!  For us, meeting with Lloyd and his family was the right thing to do and did give us a feeling of peace and closure.  Perhaps, someday we will be lucky enough to hear from and meet our son's kidney recipients.

Please know that the Tributes, Quilts, Programs, Candle ceremony, music, buffet, Pinning squares, etc., will forever be etched in our mind.  All of you are to be commended for the time, effort, planning, and hard work which goes into this affair.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you have done for us, you are our angels here on earth!
