Service Statement

NJ Sharing Network works with funeral homes to assure that the family's wish to donate and their desire for a meaningful funeral can be fulfilled. We accomplish this by communicating before and after the recovery, about issues such as timing and technique.

Communication

When the donor family has selected a funeral home prior to the recovery, the Funeral Home Liaison or a designee will notify the funeral home with the logistics of the recovery. A follow up call will also be made to the funeral home by the Liaison within one week.

After the Donation/In Memoriam

We believe that donation of organs and tissue is a compassionate and heroic gift. You will be offered a certificate honoring your loved one and recognizing the gift of life that can be displayed at the funeral services.

Many families also look to NJ Sharing Network for assistance in honoring their loved one’s gift of donation in their obituary, through memorial contributions and online tribute pages.

To create an online tribute, visit the In Memoriam page at www.njsharingnetworkfoundation.org. Family and friends may post condolences and heartfelt memories of your loved one. This guestbook can be printed for a keepsake. If you are interested in memorial contributions to NJ Sharing Network Foundation in memory of your loved one, contribution envelopes will be made available to you. All contributions will be graciously acknowledged.

And finally, to honor your loved one’s gift of donation in their obituary, we offer the following suggestion:

(Your loved one’s name) gave the gift of life through organ and/or tissue donation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in the name of (Your loved one’s name) to the NJ Sharing Network Foundation, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974 or www.njsharingnetworkfoundation.org.

Foundation Donations

Supporting the Sharing Network Foundation can be done through direct contributions, memorial and tribute gifts, and employer-matched funds. All contributions are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
