Requirements:
RN or a Bachelor’s degree in biology or medical sciences and two to four years of related experience and/or training is required. Experience in trauma/critical care required.
Minimum of 2 years employment at Network as First Responder if no prior critical care or OPO experience.

Duties:
Facilitates the organ and tissue donor process through assessment, donor management, consent, organ placement, surgical recovery and post mortem care. Makes clinical judgment based upon a synthesis of current research, concepts, principles, theories, and outcomes to solve complex problems. Follows best practice guidelines as outlined by NJ Sharing Network management team. Maintains competency to perform in the role through ongoing education and training.
Monitors the process and outcomes of donor management to determine quality improvement need. Participates in quality improvement initiatives with regard to the documentation necessary for the donor chart. Completes required documentation according to the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) guidelines and other regulatory agencies.
Spearheads, initiates, and actively participates in research projects and/or improvement measures.
Leads and collaborates with other staff members; includes attending full staff, clinical staff, team meetings and case reviews to ensure development and implementation of best practices.

First Responder Organ Referral Specialist/Surgical Recovery

RN or a Bachelor’s degree in biology or medical sciences, with a minimum of one year of experience and/or training in health care.

Duties:
Utilizes medical and scientific principles to analyze and evaluate potential organ and/or tissue donors through the review of the medical record, communication with the nursing, and medical staff and Triage as to the current status of the patient and the plan of care exercising independent discretion and making appropriate decisions.
Analyzes and reviews lab data and diagnostic studies.
Accurately completes required documentation in the electronic chart with regard to the donor process and tracking, quality assurance, case follow up and other pertinent documents within required timeframes.
Facilitates development and implementation of best practices. Attends full-staff, clinical, team meetings and case review.
Functions independently in the Operating Room coordinating the surgical recovery of a donor.

Histocompatibility Laboratory Supervisor

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field and 6 years of histocompatibility testing with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity is required.
Must be a certified or registered Medical Technologist. Certification ABHI is preferred.
Must qualify under current Federal and ASHI regulations as general supervisor.
Experience requirement may be reduced for candidates with a doctoral and/or master degree in laboratory sciences in a related field.

Duties:
New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network is seeking an evening shift laboratory supervisor to coordinate technical operations of the laboratory including ABO and HLA typing, HLA antibody screening, crossmatch, and infectious disease testing for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.

Associates Degree in Medical Technology and or Biology preferred. Laboratory certification at the MLT (ASCP) level or phlebotomy certification and/or laboratory experience in histocompatibility or blood banking is preferred. Must participate in 7 hours of approved continuing education activities per year to maintain current knowledge and skills in field.: New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network is seeking two Laboratory Technicians to perform all authorized laboratory clerical and technical functions according to written policies and procedures.

Duties:
Specimen accession, specimen preparation, computer data entry and reporting, quality assurance surveys, and other routine laboratory assignments, and any other tasks assigned by the Director.
