Mara L. Barlow
Mara L. Barlow is the Director of Public Affairs for the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network. Her responsibilities include management of all Network communications, public education, minority affairs, community development and volunteer functions. She was instrumental in establishing the state’s organ donation specialty license plate as well as the statewide Organ and Tissue Donor Registry to increase organ and tissue donation in New Jersey.
Barlow now oversees the NJ Donor Designation Collaborative team with the goal of increasing donor designations through registrations at the state Motor Vehicle Commission and serves as branding liaison for the Association of Organ Procurement Organization’s PE/PR council. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators, and the National Association of Female Executives.
Before joining NJ Sharing Network in 1992, she was employed by Bozell/Poppe Tyson managing public relations for the “ New Jersey and You…Perfect Together” tourism campaign, and handled Public Information for the NJ Department of Commerce and Economic development. She was previously employed in public relations by Seton Hall University. Barlow holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Rutgers University and has been recognized by Who’s Who in Business Communicators for over 15 years.
Barlow and her husband Jeff reside in Edison with their dog “Daisy.”
