Joseph S. Roth

Joseph S. Roth, of Morris Plains, New Jersey is President and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network. He joined the Network in this position in April 1998.

Previously, Roth was Director, Government Affairs at Schering-Plough Corporation in Madison, New Jersey and prior to that served as Director, State and Community Affairs for the corporation. Before joining Schering-Plough, Roth held various positions in Sales, Marketing and Government Relations for Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Roth currently is a member of the New Jersey State Health Care Administration Board. Also, Roth currently holds the position of Treasurer of the Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance. He served as President of the National Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) in 2004-2005, and he was previously Chairman of the AOPO Legislative/Regulatory Committee. He served on the Board of Directors of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) from 2004 to 2006 and was previously Vice Chairman of the (UNOS) Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) Committee as well as a member of the Organ Availability Committee. Roth received the prestigious AOPO President’s Award in 2000 and was named the 2003 Healthcare Professional Triangle Award honoree by the New Jersey Transplant Association for his dedication to saving lives through organ donation and transplantation.

Roth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology/zoology from the University of Maryland. He and his wife, Lori, have two sons, Robert and Jonathan.
