Celebration of Life
At our recent Celebration of Life and Remembrance event, Jim Rhatican (center), liver recipient and volunteer, met the Cappas family who attended in memory of their loved one, donor Pedro Cappas.

Marc DiNardo
On July 21st, NJ Sharing Network, in conjunction with New Jersey police, firefighters and EMS held a commemorative event to honor Jersey City Detective Marc DiNardo, a hero in life and death. This event celebrated the life of Detective DiNardo, who not only gave his life in the performance of his duties, but continued to give life to others as an organ donor. Additionally, this day marks the launch of a statewide police, firefighter and EMS organ donation education initiative.

Community Healing Program
Jersey City Medical Center and NJ Sharing Network recently unveiled a “Wall of Heroes”. This wall displays photographs submitted by donor family members and letters from transplant recipients which personalize the impact of the gift of life. The memorial is located at Jersey City Medical Center in a space adjacent to critical care waiting areas in hopes that families facing end of life decisions will be inspired to learn more about organ and tissue donation. The memorial will grow as new photos of donors from Jersey City Medical Center are added each year. View pictures from the formal dedication ceremony that commenced on August 18th.
